Paso Robles

Paso Robles is a town of about 30,000 people, located in San Luis Obispo County, approximately halfway in between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Once called, “Hot Springs,” the area that is now Paso Robles, or, El Paso De Robles, was once known for it’s thermal springs.

In the early 1900’s, Paso Robles was known as the, “Almond Capital of the World,” producing almonds, and storing and processing them in the iconic almond tower, which is now Derby Wine Estates’ tasting room and wine processing facility.

Paso Robles, or as the locals call it, Paso, is now perhaps best known for it’s production of wine. The warm, sunny climate and rich soils of the area make it an attractive appellation for wine growers. In fact, Paso boasts nearly 300 wineries in the surrounding area. The latitude and longitude of Paso Robles is 35.6408° N, 120.6539° W.
