Atascadero is a small city located about halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It is a part of what locals call, the North County (of San Luis Obispo.)

Atascadero was originally created as a utopian colony, by Edward Gardner Lewis, an East Coast magazine publisher. The Atascadero City Hall Building and sunken gardens that surround it are considered the last remnants of the city’s former architectural style.

Atascadero has mild winters and hot, dry summers. In the 2010 United States Census, it was found that Atascadero had a population of approximately 30,000 people. It is located South of Paso Robles and North of the city of San Luis Obispo. The latitude and longitude of the city of Atascadero is: 35.4842° N, 120.6725° W.
